Australian experimental artist Lucas Abela (now known as Granpa) has spent decades developing his unique noise practice. Using amplified and processed shards of glass he has created a performance instrument unlike any other. Blowing and pressing into the glass he can create a controlled chaos of resonant sounds and shifting modulations. His performances are impossible to ignore and a testament his devotion to his craft.

In the decades since picking up his glass, Granpa has toured the world extensively. He is now embarking on the 49th parallel and Rising tour bringing him across Canada and to Windsor for the first time. Granpa and his glass appears on the Death Grips album Year of the Snitch and he recently released a collaborative album with Zach Hill on Warp Records called Bag of Max Bag of Cass.
